Take Time to Enjoy Wii Sports ResortNintendo Brings Gaming to Another Level with Wii MotionPlus
Wii Sports Resort provides an expanded feel to its precursor with more sports, more fun, and more control of the game.
Many fans of the original Wii Sports for the Nintendo Wii boast of its high replay value, despite the relatively few variations throughout the game. Wii Sports Resort offers similarly excellent replay, but with an expansion of activity that can keep players discovering new games, advanced levels, and hidden secrets for far longer a time. Playing for the Love of the GameThe game includes Swordplay, Wakeboarding, Frisbee, Archery, Basketball, Table Tennis, Golf, Bowling, Power Cruising, Canoeing, Cycling, and Air Sports - almost tripling the number offered in the original, and bringing back some of the most addictive. Each sport has multiple games or events within, some of which reveal themselves after attempting the basic version of the sport. The sports offer more difficult levels as the player progresses. These sports are fun to play on their own accord, but this video game provides the added quality of reminding the player of - unsurprisingly enough - a resort vacation. One might not quite feel the wind in their hair or the sand at their feet, but the elements still feel refreshing. Tossing a Frisbee on the beach, wakeboarding over the waves, and canoeing down a stream are an obvious fit for a game that celebrates warm weather fun. The other activities, like table tennis and archery, provide just as much whimsical enjoyment over the clean sweeping graphics of the gameplay setting's Wuhu Island. Utilizing Wii MotionPlusWii Sports Resort is Nintendo's launch pad for its new expansive device for the Wii Remote, the Wii MotionPlus. The sensor device plugs conveniently into the remote, and enables a more sensitive capture of the player's movement. Nintendo claims this modification allows a player's actions to be rendered identically on the screen. The new sensation delivers, providing a more accurate feel and flow to much of the gameplay. The subtleties of throwing a Frisbee, or spinning a ping pong ball have never been captured so completely. The improvement is barely noticeable at first, but the smoothness soon becomes apparent when looking back at previous games. The added sensory device will offer improved gameplay for many titles to come. Wii Sports Resort is the Right Way to GoThough not quite a vacation on an exotic island, the gameplay is fun and exciting, and will keep gamers entertained for hours. With the superb ambiance of playing on the beach, flying through the sky, or racing on the ocean, every part of the game just seems more fun. If you can't afford a tropical stay on beautiful beaches, Wii Sports Resort just might temporarily provide you with the pleasure of getting away from it all.
